School Description
Valley View Elementary School is one of seventeen schools in the Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD). The school serves students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade, with an enrollment of approximately 420. We are located in the center of a dynamic and supportive community that expresses its values toward education through a high level of participation. Valley View Elementary School opened in 2001.

The staff at Valley View Elementary School provides an exemplary learning environment. Academic learning is the primary focus of the school. Still, commendably, the staff operates on the principle that a caring environment fostering relationships, self-worth, and individual development is the best way to realize such learning. Our students can approach all facets of their learning with confidence and the assurance that Valley View is their home. Rules of conduct are explicitly taught, practiced, regularly reviewed, and recognized, leading to responsible and reflective individuals. The staff welcomes the direct involvement of the community in these efforts. At Valley View Elementary School, parents and staff together are dedicated to creating a safe and orderly learning environment in which all students interact positively with others and can develop responsibility, confidence, and self-worth while achieving their highest potential.

Our parents play an important role in Valley View Elementary School through a variety of groups where they provide input. These have included, but are not limited to, PTC, School Site Council, and Strategic Planning. Parents present in the classrooms teaching special skills, working on school and playground improvements, conducting fundraisers, coordinating after school events, and making tremendous time and financial donations. Over 300 parents/guardians, grandparents, and community members regularly volunteer their services in classrooms, the playground, the science lab, the cubs’ den, and the library.

Valley View Elementary School is a center of learning for students and the community. Our facilities are often used many afternoons, evenings, and weekends by our students, as well as other members of the community.
