Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Safety Reminders - Please follow these rules to keep our children safe.
Safety is a TOP PRIORITY for all. Please review this important safety information regarding your arrival and departure from school. You may also review the Valley View School Handbook on the website for further details.
Arrival:
- Students may arrive at school at 7:35 a.m. when supervision begins. The different student age groups arrive in varied locations.
TK and Kindergarten
- Parents may enter the school via the Administration Office parking lot and join the ‘drop off loop’ or walk up to the designated locations near the classroom where teachers are present to receive them.
Grades 1-6
- Students may enter the school via the backside in the larger parking lot.
- Red curbs indicate NO parking at any time (this means you must stay in your car).
- No one is allowed to enter the school from the back between 7:30 AM and 2:30 PM. All entries must be through the administration office/building.
- Expect heavy traffic in our parking lots and crosswalks throughout the year, especially the first few weeks of school. We encourage you to walk to school or park on the street. You may walk your child to their designated drop-off/pick-up area.
Here are some key reminders:
- Upper, small lot: Reserved for only Transitional Kinder and Kinder drop-off/pick-up. A permit is required to use this lot. Permits will be distributed on ‘Meet the Teacher’ Day. Lower, large lot: Designated for students in grades 1 through 6.
- Please wait patiently in the ‘car line’ for your student in both lots. Even if there’s an open space ahead, do not drive around other cars to get in front.
- Be courteous and cautious. This year, the Rocklin Police Department will regularly monitor our safety procedures. Please follow our rules even when police are not present.
- Be mindful of colored curbs—red and yellow—and adhere to the loading and no-parking regulations. To avoid potential citations, please avoid parking in these areas. Additionally, the Springfield Senior community requests that families not block neighborhood entrances. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Supervision on the blacktop starts at 7:35 a.m. Students in grades 1 through 6 will participate in a ‘Walk & Talk’ session before school. This time is designed to give students a chance to get exercise and socialize before classes begin, helping to ensure a calm and positive start to the day.
